Herbal Plantation Project

Ayurveda, the most ancient holistic medical science native to ancient Indian, the origin of which can be traced back to more than 5000 years. Ayurveda can be defined as a system, which uses the inherent principles of nature, to help maintain health in a person by keeping the individual's body, mind and spirit in perfect equilibrium with nature. Ayurveda is a Sanskrit term, made up of the words "ayus" and "veda." "Ayus" means life and "Veda" means knowledge or science. The term "Ayurveda" thus means 'the knowledge of life' or 'the science of life'. According to the ancient Ayurveda scholar Charaka, "ayu" comprises the mind, body, senses and the soul.

Ayurveda is the eternal Vedic science of life, the traditional natural healing system of India. The concept of Ayurveda is not just medical treatment or diagnosis of a diseased condition but much more than that. Ayurveda is a set of practical, simple guidelines, for long life and good health. Using them you can bring your body and mind to perfect balance.

Ayurveda has a theoretical basis but is overwhelmingly practical in nature. It includes the total concept of life between both man and environment. It teaches us how an individual can stay in harmony with nature, and enhance health. The content of Ayurveda has developed over thousands of years of human evolution. Today, Ayurveda is at the forefront of mind-body medicines. Ayurveda has spread far beyond its traditional base and is gaining attention throughout the world. Ayurveda with its understanding of life and consciousness benefits as the medicine of the future.

The main aims of Ayurveda are to - To prevent diseases - To treat and cure diseases

And both these are aimed towards the promotion of health on three levels: - Physically - Mentally - Spiritually

As we understand it is not only the cure of diseases but for evolving the spiritual consciousness Ayurveda plays a vital role. By the wish of His Holiness Sri Sri Tiki Baba work is going on to establish a free Ayurveda Hospital. In future this will be a platform for advanced research center for Ayurvedic medical science. The objective of the hospital will be to provide free service to all poor and downtrodden patients irrespective of cast, creed and religion.

The base for the hospital is to prepare medicine. So by direction of Sri Baba it is planned to have a huge garden for herbal plantation. Currently in Ashram premises there is a garden spreading 2 Acres of land for herbal plantation. There are around 200-250 kinds of plants in the garden maintained by 8-10 people. Medicines get collected and distributed to patients on need basis.

But the plan is to establish a hospital which can provide free service to 800-1000 patients daily. To fulfill the medicine requirements for the said purpose we are going to have a dedicated herbal garden in 200 Acres.

So we are kindly asking for your help to realize this project to fulfill a noble cause for world upliftment. For any inquiry and donation please get in touch with the Ashram secretary at 91-671-2120657 (Office) and NilaPadmaAshram@yahoo.com.
